CHRIS WILCOX, MY FAVORITE BOOK STORE MANAGER

The guy who looks a trifle alarmed is Chris Wilcox, the manager of City Lights Bookstore. He is reading my latest
dramatic monologue, "Signs and Wonders," which is slated for production in California in June.

  1. Great news vis-a-vis "Signs and Wonders". So Dwayne is sufficiently impressed with the play
to go ahead and stage it. All right! We will all stayed tuned. Here's hoping it will be a
    great success.

Chris looks, what, intrigued? He's a guy who will read nearly every book that lands in his hands. At least, that's my take. Every time I've been in City Lights and asked him about a particular new book, he's read it? Or skimmed it, anyway. I am so glad Chris is the new owner of the bookstore. I can't think of a more natural fit.

  2. Yeah, Dwain is holding auditions this week and something is pending in Highlands where Ron Leslie has plans to do "Signs and Wonders" in the new "black box" theater there. You and I need to go to California to see "Signs and Wonders" premiere, like we went to see "Land's End."

  3. I can't wait to see that play performed! Will you be doing it around here? Have you got an actress in mind?

  4. Nope, no actress in mind. I had three that I hoped would be interested, but it made them nervous. I'm hoping that the director in California will come up with someone who can do Shelby Jean.
