The hearty gentleman on my left is Kenneth Tedford who came over from Jonesborough yesterday and spent two hours telling me stories during brunch at Spring Street Cafe. Kenneth is deaf and has combined signing and a natural flare for gestures into a dramatic form of storytelling. He was accompanied by Saundra Kelley who has just written a book on storytellers in this region and she assured me that there would be a signing at City Lights. (Yes, Ted and I are in the book!) Right now, Ted and I are looking for an opportunity to tell stories together.

Attended a story tellers convention in LaGrange, Georgia a few springs ago. "Encouraged" by my wife, but found it very enjoyable.
