THE LIAR'S BENCH AT CITY LIGHTS, JULY 3RD, 7:OO P.M.

Kind hearts, here is the information about the next Liar's Bench at City Lights on July 3rd at 7 p.m. All of the participants are not listed on the flyer because we had to go ahead with the printing before we heard from everyone. However, this is an approximate list.

  1. The flyers keep getting better and better! William Ritter is looking forward to holding forth with a couple of real oltime ballads. He'll be doing the "Wild Hog" one which is guaranteed to bring chills.

  2. The first "Liar's Bench"cri was an enjoyable event and a critical success. I know. I was there. I expect this next event to be even better. This is only the beginning of an important story-telling festival in our Southern Appalachian region.

  3. What fun. Now there's another reason I wished I lived back up there in Asheville. Why maybe I could participate, sing one of my 30 year old songs and strum the autoharp. Or recite one. People who've heard me sing one of my songs often suggest they would be more effective if I did recitations. Which is kinda funny cause people who've heard me recite, generally recommend I try singing with musical accompaniment. Go figure.

  4. If things keep going well, the Liar's Bench will continue throughout the summer and into the fall. There may even be a Halloween and Christmas Liar's Bench. I think we are gearing up for a Cherokee version in August, and I may have a short play in September.
