 PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE CURRENT PRODUCTION OF "OUTLANDER" AT THE PARKWAY PLAYHOUSE.


 At the top, Horace Kephart (Jeff Messer) discusses the plans to make Bryson City the "Gateway to the Smokies with Mayor Kelly Bennett (Doug Shaw) while the town's citizens and the regulars at Calhoun's store look on.

The central photo is Mayor Kelly Bennet (Doug Shaw) giving an enthusiastic speech about the fact that the creation of the Park will bring prosperity to Swain county.

Horace Kephart (Jeff Messer), standing left foreground explains his plan to save a portion of the wilderness in Swain County by converting it to a national park while an alarmed Granville Calhoun (Rob Storrs) standing right, listens.  This is a scene from "Outlander" at the Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville, N. C. which is running from June 2ed until June 16th.  The play features an original musical score by Frank Lee and deals with the creation of the Great Smokies National Park.  Please go to the Parkway Playhouse website for additional information.
