SIGNS AND WONDERS AND THE BRIGHT FOREVER: OPENING NIGHT.

Kind Hearts, all of these photos were made by Carl Iobst during the three performances of my two plays (dramatic monologues) at the Martin Lipscomb Performing Arts Center in Highlands. My play, "Signs and Wonders," concerts tragicomic events in the life of Shelby Jean, a rural Georgia girl who has a fateful encounter with Darcy Montgomery, a Bob Jones minister.
"The Bright Forever" is the life of Fanny Crosby, a blind woman who allegedly wrote over 8,000 hymns and spent the latter part of her life preaching to "her boys" from the stage of a mission hall in the New York Bowery. I guess the two plays are a sort of "salt and pepper" set since both deal with religion.
