Kind Hearts, the lady with her eyes closed is Nancy Reeder who performed an enthusiastic version of Twain's leaping frog. The guy in the blue cap is Dave Waldrop, who not only tells stories, but sings. Among other things, he sang about kudzu!! The man with the guitar is Paul Arrussi,a mountain musician who is the perfect addition to a storytelling session. Last Saturday Night, the Liar's Bench met at Signature Coffee, and while the storytellers told tales about pigs, frogs, devious preachers and Jack Tales, Paul sang songs between the tales. Dave Brewin did a Jack Tale about Jack and the Devil, and Newt Smith talked about hog killing and Harry Crews! We even had a haiku about a French waiter from John Quinnett and a poem called "Tired" from Perry Eury! I talked about the Liar's Bench in front of the local post office and how it got it's name. We will do this again with a new program on July 3rd at City Lights. Please come.
